I have officially moved 11 times since arriving in Poland less than two years ago. Yes, you read that right, eleven. As in the number that comes after 10 and the number that comes before 12. Not quite a dozen, but almost. E-L-E-V-E-N.
Sometimes, life gives you lemons and the last thing you want to do is make lemonade. Sometimes, you want to take those lemons and throw then right back at life, stomp your feet, and cry.
Let me let you in on a little secret, friends. You don’t have to like lemonade.
It is bold. It’s sour. And the faint hint of sweetness is overpowered by bitterness.
In this season of what feels like an abundance of lemons, I’m learning that it’s ok not to want to make lemonade. I’m learning that it’s ok to say “no thank you life, you can keep your lemons”, and I’m learning that it most certainly is ok to just throw the lemons away and move on.
Here’s to navigating the lemons, and all the bold, sour, bitter, and sweet they bring, one day at a time.
